About Expecting the Curve

Oh, hey there! Welcome!

Grab a cup of coffee, a Diet Coke, a glass of wine, or whatever makes you happy, and let’s talk!

According to most of the sane people we know, our family is a little crazy when it comes to sports—maybe you can relate!

The idea for Expecting the Curve came one day while sitting at a hitting lesson with my son. He was struggling to hit the curveball and his coach told him, “Jackson, anybody can hit a fastball right down the middle—it’s easy. Hitting a curveball is harder. It takes patience. You have to wait for it. But if you expect the curveball—the hard stuff—you’ll be prepared to hit anything out of the park!”

And it made me think. You know, we’ve had a great life, but we’ve had our share of curveballs.

Through fostering kids, adoption, losing our parents, moving to a new city, a few businesses—some successful, some not so much—and a whole lot of other things life has thrown our way, we’ve seen a lot of curveballs.

So stick around, we’re going to talk about sports and kids and all the hectic, fun, and amazing stuff that goes along with it. We’ll talk about keeping our families close, and figuring out how to keep our faith alive—even on the road. Most of all, we’re just going to have a lot of fun!
